Design announce 2007 sponsorship for Santa Clara Vanguard
Franklin Park, IL – June 1, 2007 –Hammond Design is
pleased to announce a new relationship with the Santa Clara Vanguard
Drum & Bugle Corps.
Hammond Design is pleased to announce that Santa Clara Vanguard’s
entire hornline will be using their specially designed custom mouthpieces
for the 2007 season. Hammond Design has worked with the Santa Clara
Vanguard instructional staff to develop mouthpieces that fit the
needs of the Santa Clara Vanguard.

Santa Clara Vanguard Trumpet Technician, Ramon Vasquez, speaks
about his success with the mouthpieces, "I suggested to Nick
Williams brass caption head of the Santa Clara Vanguard that we
should work with Karl Hammond in December of 2006. At this time,
I had known of the high quality, hand-made mouthpieces that he has
made for myself as well as other notable musicians in the industry
today. I had also known that Karl has been actively involved in
the Drum and Bugle corps activity in his work with the Bluecoats
Drum & Bugle Corps. Through his work in designing and developing
a true mellophone mouthpiece (among others), Karl Hammond has made
a mouthpiece that suits the needs of the performers on the field
that offers superior intonation and projection. With Karl's attention
to detail and his willingness to make the best mouthpiece on the
market, he has taken the advice of myself and others in the industry
to devise the best mouthpieces that can be used on the marching
field as well as the concert hall. Karl has done it again! If you
have not played on a Karl Hammond mouthpiece...you need to. You
don't know what you and your students are missing."
Owner Karl Hammond says, “Our relationship with the Santa
Clara Vanguard has been an absolute pleasure. Working with their
staff to create new mouthpieces that fit their specific needs has
been a great experience and we are all excited about the results.
We look forward to sponsoring the Santa Clara Vanguard for the 2007
season.”

The Bluecoats announce 2007 sponsorship by Hammond Design Mouthpieces
Franklin
Park, IL – August 14, 2006 – The Bluecoats Drum &
Bugle Corps are pleased to announce a new relationship with Hammond
Design Mouthpieces. The corps’ trumpet and mellophone sections
played their 2006 program “connexus” on all new mouthpieces
that were specifically designed for them by Hammond Design.
The Bluecoats are pleased to announce that Hammond Design will
be sponsoring the entire hornline for the 2007 season. In addition
to supplying the hornline with the current trumpet and mellophone
mouthpieces, Hammond Design will be working with the Bluecoats
instructional staff to develop baritone and tuba mouthpieces that
fit the specific needs of the Bluecoats.
George
Wozniak, Bluecoats Brass Co-Caption Head speaks about their success
with the mouthpieces, “Hammond Design Mouthpieces have helped
provide us with clear and resonant projection throughout the range
of our instruments. The ability to focus pitches quicker, right
to the center of the tone, through their heavyweight design, has
been excellent. The rim design allows greater comfort for endurance
and accuracy. They provide the ability to match consistency of
tonal color player to player and give students the equivalent
set-up, quality and confidence that the Bluecoats brass ensemble
demands. They are a welcome addition to the Bluecoats brass program.”
Hammond
Design’s all new mellophone mouthpiece promises to provide
the discriminating player with better response and intonation
than any other mellophone mouthpiece on the market. Ryan Adamsons,
brass instructor, comments, “What Karl's mellophone mouthpiece
allows us to do is to combine the internal characteristics of
the french horn mouthpieces our players are used to with the shank
the mellophone needs and the rim that's neccesary for the marching
idiom. The result is a mouthpiece that finally meets the needs
of the player, the instrument, and the activity."
Owner Karl Hammond says, “Our relationship with the Bluecoats
has been an absolute pleasure. Working with their staff and players
to create new mouthpieces has been a great experience and we are
all excited about the results. We look forward to sponsoring the
Bluecoats for the 2007 season.”
